Reconstruction after skin cancer excision and Mohs surgery

Skin cancers that affect the face (including basal cell and squamous cell carcinoma) are very common. These cancers often require removal by a dermatologist taking progressive slices of tissue, known as Mohs surgery.  Mohs surgery can often result in wounds of the face that require reconstruction.  Many of these can be treated in the office under local anesthesia.  Many of these procedures also take an hour or less and patients can go home immediately after.  Dr. Purnell is happy to work with your Mohs surgeon to coordinate the most aesthetic reconstruction possible for each specific patient.
